Professional Bio

Adam graduated from RMIT University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. He has worked as a design consultant in the oil, petrochemical and mining sectors where he was involved in the mechanical design and procurement in EPCM projects such as the Adelaide Airport, Southern Cross Station and the Brooklyn-Lara Pipeline. He was also involved in a number of underground mine de-watering projects and provided mechanical design services during hazardous area projects. 

In 2014, Adam commenced with the Western Australian public service at the then Department of Commerce as the Senior Gas Supply Engineer. In this role, he assisted network operators develop safety cases, inspected gate stations and pressure reduction facilities and investigated breaches of the WA gas legislation. 

Adam is the Chief Gas and Plumbing Inspector at the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. He managers a team that carries out inspection and investigation in accordance with the Gas Standards Act 1972, the Plumbers Licensing Act 1995 and the subsidiary regulations. He leads fatality and major injury investigations. With a strong focus on risk reduction and safety, he and his team hold plumbers, gasfitters and network operators to account for poor practices and discourages unlicensed operatives doing prescribed work.
